WCQG projects

This month at guild we have several projects in which we could participate.  We have a new block of the month program. I chose to tackle my block early while contemplating the others.
The block wasn't hard to do but took a little time. I would love to win this set of blocks!

These 6 1/2 inch string blocks are for our baby quilt project for Wise Choices Pregnancy Resource Center. Patsy, do you see that western juvenile print? That was in the fabric you gave me. There's still a small scrap left. LOL

This is what I did with the Brown Paper Bag challenge. Last month's meeting we were to bring a 10 inch square of fabric in a brown paper bag with our name inside the bag. We picked a bag and were to make something with the fabric inside.  The red fabric in the center was the fabric in the bag I chose. I thought I had decided what I wanted to do. I knew this gal liked star blocks from her quilts I had seen. I wanted to paper piece some small star blocks but I knew that in the process her fabric would be cut up small and I just couldn't bring myself to cut it small.  So after surfing I found this block and liked it. It finishes at 6 inches and will make a nice mug rug. Hope she likes it. I don't think she reads my blog! If she does she just got a preview before Saturday. LOL I can't wait to see what everyone did with their 10 inch square.

AND we are getting recipes together for a project and I have typed up a recipe to contribute. Whew!

I took my little Elna Lotus SP sewing machine today to the bee that meets on Thursdays and began joining some of the half square triangle blocks that members turned in. These blocks were more pastel.  I like a few more rows getting them all together. You may remember this post with these blocks. I put borders on it and it is now on the quilting machine and hopefully will get quilted tomorrow.  : )

I had a surprise today. Dot from the Post Oak Quilters called. She and a couple of ladies wanted to come shop. They are in the area camping at a local RV park. Sounds like they are having a ball. Playing Mexican Train, Skip-Bo, etc. And shopping. : )   Thanks for coming Dot and friends.

Blessings and happy quilting,
