To whett your appetite

Let this whett your appetite. This is the Purple 4 Patch Stacked Posies that was in my UFO List. I found this fabric in a tote in our room we meet in each Wednesday for Kraz-z Quilters. The fabrics are two colorways of the same print. I finished this quilt top yesterday. In the post below you can leave a comment and be entered for my giveaway which includes the pattern to make this quilt.

I received the package from Australia! Time for my 100th post giveaway!

Thank you, Lindi, at Quilty Threads and Other Things. I've never received mail from Australia. How fun! In the package was a scarf--with ribbons woven through the yarn, a piggy bath scrubber, bath salts, warm black socks, and candies--with cute little koalas on them.

Drum roll please. Thank you. And now I am announcing my own 100th post giveaway. It is the pattern, 4 Patch Stacked Posies by H.D. Designs and more goodies. Leave a comment telling me how and when you started quilting and you will be entered in my giveaway--making sure I can find you if your name is drawn. If you don't have a blog you can still enter by leaving a comment with your email or clicking on my profile and sending me an email. Spread the word.
P. S. I will draw on my birthday, Oct. 26, at 9:00pm.

Here's some pictures from the Quilt Show

Here are some of the quilts from our 2008 Wise Co. Quilt Guild.
Pictured above is Fran Bass with one of the "Rabbit" quilts. And below is Fran pictured with her "Heart" quilt. Beside her is Jean Vining with the 50th wedding anniversary quilt she and family members made and presented to her sister Alice.

And here I am in my Quilt Catering booth with two shoppers from Paradise Piecemakers Nelda Davis and Maurine Begemann. Below right is Donna Hill with her 4 Patch Stacked Posies she allowed me to display in my booth.

Yaaah! I learned to scan pictures and post them to the internet.

Next post is #100. You know what that means? You got it--it's time for a giveaway. So spread the word.

Star BOM Block #6

Here is Block #6. I must have sewn and ripped out the center pinwheel about four times before I got it acceptable. Just me--there are days like that. All together it wasn't a hard block at all. I started to change the fabrics but decided to leave it as per pattern instructions. I may remake later. The colors make me think of chocolate covered cherries.

Time flys doesn't it?

Where does the time go? Away for sure. Well, I didn't get the piecing done I wanted to last week. VBS I did get some pillowcase kits cut out and a sample sewn up. Then I cut out more fat quarters to put in my booth. Then I helped with the quilt show. Then I set up my booth. I did really well with it. I really enjoy meeting and visiting other quilters. There were some really pretty quilts. Sorry no pictures. Bad blogger. I was too busy. I will see if I can get Fran to email me some. Speaking of Fran--very talented lady even though she doesn't think she so. She does wonderful machine quilting on her sewing machine. She and her daughter like to make projects together. They did rabbit quilts. Each was done in 30's fabric with bunnies, carrots, radishes, etc. all over. Just adorable. Then Fran quilted them with her imagination. Fantastic! I gotta get you pictures. And the one that won viewer's choice was amazing! A fiftieth wedding anniversary quilt with hand embroidery and applique done by a very talented lady in our guild.

In this photo he is playing with my baby doll. This will not be his favorite when he grows up.

Then Saturday after the show we kept DGS Mason overnight so DS and DDIL could go out. He is walking now--no, make that running. From the time he wakes up in the morning until he goes to sleep at night with maybe a short nap in between--if you're in the car. I wish I had half--make that a fourth of his energy. I really want to get all three of the grandkids together so they can have fun together and get to know each other. The older two missed out on Mason crawling and when my DD told my DGD that Mason was walking she couldn't believe it. Oh, and by the way we have some very gifted grandchildren. DD told me DGS#1 is reading on a fourth grade level and in second grade and DGD is reading on a third grade level and is in first grade. They were both read to a lot from the time they were babies and on up. It truly makes a difference.

In this photo he is wearing rubber boots and walking with Papaw.

Well, I've got some things to get done. Ya'll be blessed.

Here's a link with instructions to make a pillowcase. The first part of the video is part of a Block of a Month program but keep watching and the instructions for the pillowcase comes last. I posted the link because I don't have time right now to find out how to load a you tube video.

Our quilts are all up and my booth is up for the Wise County Quilt Guild Quilt Show 2008. Doors open at 10:00am tomorrow. I can't make up my mind which quilt to vote my choice for viewer's choice. I'm thinking I'm going to go to sleep and dream of quilts swirling around and around.

Block #5 Star BOM

I really like this one. If you scroll down a few posts you can see my other blocks.

It is cool (60's) and rainy this morning. I hope to get a lot of sewing (that means piecing) done this week. I am going to cut out some kits to put in my booth I will have at our Wise Co. Quilt Guild quilt show coming up this weekend. I will be helping at the end of the week with the show. I also have to bake another loaf of my Lemon Zucchini Bread for the bake sale. So if I don't post anymore this week you'll know I'm very busy.

We took our darling visitor to the airport this afternoon. DV has decided to move. I was very surprised at my emotions over the last several days. I had gotten very attached in the last 5 to 6 weeks. I may be lost for a couple of days adjusting to DV's absence.
God bless her.
And blessings to all,
