Geta's Giveaways

You gotta go check out Geta's Giveaways. She is going to do monthly giveaways. How wonderful is she? Very! And talented and giving. She is also going to have monthly tutorials. How wonderful is that? Very! Click on the button and it will take you to Geta's blog and comment for a chance to win.

On another note. A sadder note. Lindi lost her mother this week. So please say a prayer for her and her family. Thanks.

Hey, remember our Darling Visitor from last year. I got a phone call from her tonight. I hadn't heard much from her in the last year. We talked and talked. She is doing pretty good. Could be better. I'm praying for her and if you feel God leading you to pray I would appreciate your prayers too.
Sissy got a haircut today. DH took her and picked her up. I'm telling you. Somebody needs to take his temperature; the aliens stole him and did something to him; this is too weird. My kids cannot believe this. He told me he wanted to get her for me because he thought I would like her. He's right. I do. But a month ago I would have told you I didn't have time; wasn't interested; blah, blah, blah. He knows me better than I do. Don't tell him I said that, okay.

Blessings and may all your ups and downs be with a needle and thread,

Giveaway at Terry Atkinson

If you go to Terry Atkinson's blog and leave a comment on this post you will be entered to win a copy of her new book Fat Quarter Fonts.

I went to Paradise today. Paradise is only a few miles from my house. We meet and sew in the fellowship hall of a local church there the fourth Saturday of each month. I got all the Navy 4 Patch Stacked Posies blocks squared up ( I used my new square ruler-and it made quick work of squaring up). Yahoo! Now I just have to sew them together and then decide on borders. I also took my crumb blocks to show them. It's always fun to see everyone's projects. They are as individual as they are. Oh, by the way, we had a cold front come through last night. Yesterday it was near 80 degrees. Today we may have gotten up to 38 degrees with a brisk north wind. Brrrrrr! Perfect day for sewing! Just a little cool hauling the stuff in and out. Well worth it!

Happy quilting and blessings,

Picture of Giveaway

Patricia has received her giveaway package and has an excellent picture here. I really enjoyed making this bag. It is based on The Essential Tote by Lazy Girl Designs. It was my first tote bag to make from scratch. I've put together some bags that were kits that were partially assembled. This tote pattern is SO easy. Of course, I did my own thing. I had some blocks left over from the Purple 4 Patch Stacked Posies and used them and I love the way it turned out. I even used some of the leftover sashing. I even used some of the leftover blocks for pockets on the interior and I used two blocks and made yo-yos with buttons in the middle to decorate the bottom pleat that made the bag sit flat. I had seen SOMEWHERE to do it on the outside instead of the inside and I really liked that idea. Sorry, my camera was acting up and that picture didn't turn out. I didn't know if I could use a block and make a yo-yo and now I do! I BELIEVE in using what you've got. This has given me ideas to make more bags using orphan blocks from other projects for Christmas gifts for all my girls.
Lindi, if and when you read this would you email me your mailing address. I have a surprise for you.
God's blessings be upon you,

I received the package from Australia! Time for my 100th post giveaway!

Thank you, Lindi, at Quilty Threads and Other Things. I've never received mail from Australia. How fun! In the package was a scarf--with ribbons woven through the yarn, a piggy bath scrubber, bath salts, warm black socks, and candies--with cute little koalas on them.

Drum roll please. Thank you. And now I am announcing my own 100th post giveaway. It is the pattern, 4 Patch Stacked Posies by H.D. Designs and more goodies. Leave a comment telling me how and when you started quilting and you will be entered in my giveaway--making sure I can find you if your name is drawn. If you don't have a blog you can still enter by leaving a comment with your email or clicking on my profile and sending me an email. Spread the word.
Blessings,
P. S. I will draw on my birthday, Oct. 26, at 9:00pm.

Another give-away

Molly's Place is having a give-away. Seems as though she has been cleaning out her sewing room. Sounds like a good idea. I do but in a few days it looks the same! Anyway, head on on over if you would like to sign-up for her give-away.

Oh, and I'm still working on what I will give away when I reach 100 posts. Seems as though I can't add. I think I am closer to 90 than 100. But it is coming! Gives me more time to work up something nice, huh?

The baby quilt above is one I made for my great niece. I have heard from quilters and quilting bloggers how they were never thanked for their gift of a quilt. I have been so blessed that my nephew has really valued this little quilt.

Forgot to tell you. We have a new litter of pigs. They were born Monday night. First time mother with eight little piglets. I will get a picture. We have two more due this weekend. It's August, time for show pigs to be born!
Hugs, to everyone.

Blessings,

I Won

Wow, I won a giveaway at Quilty Threads and Other Things. That is amazing! Okay, I plan on having a giveaway when I reach my 100th post. I think this makes 92. I will get some things together and post a picture. Ya'll pass it around, please, so lots of folks get a chance at winning. Just to give a hint--the pattern to make 4 Patch Stacked Posies by H.D. Designs will be included. I gotta spread this addiction, right?

Tomorrow myself and several ladies from Kraz-z Quilters are taking our field trip to Frances' Fabrics. AND my DMIL called and her group will there tomorrow, too. Maybe I should call Frances and warn her. I've got to get a list together of fabrics and yardages I need. I know you will be with me in quilty spirit. I will take my camera; promise. (Putting it in my purse right now.) Okay, done.

Not much else going on around here. I picked more blackeyed peas and shelled them. Still picking some zucchini and yellow squash. I am getting a few cucumbers and the okra is starting to produce well. We had a little rain; not much really. It is cloudy and cooler this morning; 78 degrees F. The last two days it has been 100+. I had a horrible headache Saturday and the effect of it wore onto Sunday. I believe it is heat related. I'm not out in the heat, mind you, but it wears on a body.

Since it's cooler this morning; I will see if I can liberate some more okra plants.

Blessings,
