Retreat & Progress I made on Star BOM

We had a good time. There were a total of seven.  I'm sorry I didn't think to get someone to take a group picture. Again LOTS of food. I told the ladies--please rethink the amount of food you bring next time. We ate like queens.
Yes, Patsy, there is always lots of talking, too! We call it fellowship. But lots of sewing, too. LOL

I got all the sashing strips, blocks, and setting triangles sewn together and started sewing inner borders before time to go.  I did some sewing and unsewing. LOL It helps to read the instructions correctly. Late night sewing is not good when there are detailed instructions. LOL That's DH holding the quilt top. I will sew the red top and bottom inner border on hopefully tonight and then cut the other inner border that is the same color as the background in the blocks. Then I will start working on the ribbon border as I have time.

This block was more challenging. I don't always like being challenged but I know it's good for me! Things I learned: 1. Stay focused and THINK about what you're doing ; ) 2. Don't wad it up and throw it in the trash can--breathe 3. It's not nearly as bad as I think it is. 4. Frogging (rip, rip) never hurt anyone LOL

Here is Block #6. I must have sewn and ripped out the center pinwheel about four times before I got it acceptable. Just me--there are days like that. All together it wasn't a hard block at all. I started to change the fabrics but decided to leave it as per pattern instructions. I may remake later. The colors make me think of chocolate covered cherries.

I really like this one. If you scroll down a few posts you can see my other blocks.

It is cool (60's) and rainy this morning. I hope to get a lot of sewing (that means piecing) done this week. I am going to cut out some kits to put in my booth I will have at our Wise Co. Quilt Guild quilt show coming up this weekend. I will be helping at the end of the week with the show. I also have to bake another loaf of my Lemon Zucchini Bread for the bake sale. So if I don't post anymore this week you'll know I'm very busy.

Okay, I know I said I wasn't going to participate in Judy L's Star BOM but; you know I COULDN'T STAND for all the gals participating to have all the fun so here I go. I've worked really fast to get all caught up before Oct. 1 and block #5 comes out.
